Mentees

Skilled refugees who are newly settled in Canada and are seeking meaningful employment opportunities can greatly benefit from the Welcome Talent Canada  mentorship program. 

BENEFITS

  • Access to a career coach for four months (minimum 12 hours total) to receive ongoing support, guidance and advice to achieve career goals

  • Gain better understanding of how enter your industry/profession

  • Receive support to explore your career options and path to employment

  • Improve your employment profile (i.e. Resume, Linkedin, and elevator pitch)

  • Get introduced to influential contacts and expand your professional network

  • Better understanding of Canadian workplace and business culture

REQUIREMENTS

  • Arrived to Canada as a refugee or applied for refugee/claimant status upon arrival to Canada

  • Eligible to work in Canada

  • Currently unemployed, underemployed or not working in their professional field

  • Actively seeking employment opportunities

  • Have been in Canada for five years or less

  • Strong grasp of English languages (CLB 5+)

  • Graduated from a post-secondary education program and/or have equivalent professional work experience
