Nonprofits

Our mandate is to support the economic inclusion of refugees. In addition to delivering direct programs and services, we collaborate with multiple stakeholders to ensure refugees are well supported for their successful economic integration.

Our approach is to develop and share strategies, tools, and approaches that support the broader sector to build its capacity, operate more effectively, and adapt to unique needs of refugees. We also work alongside partners to complement existing programming and address gaps in service and support.

We are always seeking to develop opportunities in Canada with refugee-serving and community organizations.

Mobilize Knowledge and Advance Systems Change

Training and Delivery Support

Jumpstart works tirelessly to develop innovative strategies and programming, proven to more effectively deliver employment outcomes. To best realize system change, we welcome the opportunity to share our knowledge and support you in mobilizing new approaches to your existing programming.

Currently, Jumpstart delivers knowledge mobilization of the Hiring Events model to the broader nonprofit sector who deliver employer-jobseeker events. We provide information sessions, training workshops, tools & resources, and event delivery support so you can adopt and deliver more impactful outcomes-based events.

Collaboration and Partnerships

Client Support

No single agency can meet every refugee’s needs. Jumpstart collaborates with settlement agencies across Canada, both formally and informally, to ensure clients are referred to the right specialized services that meets their needs.

Jumpstart exclusively serves refugees and asylum seekers, specializes in economic programming, and works all across Canada, making us an ideal partner to provide additional support to your clients where service gaps exist.

Because Jumpstart only focuses on economic programming and does not provide training programs or other settlement services (i.e. housing, language, healthcare, etc.), we refer our clients to your agency to ensure they receive supports which you are better positioned to provide.

Career Readiness Workshops and Events

Jumpstart delivers a range of career readiness workshops that address specific employment barriers refugee face and how to overcome them. We partner with you and deliver these workshops to your clients. These are your events. We simply come in as guest presenters to deliver expert knowledge on key employment topics, using our refugee-lens.

Upskilling and Training Programs

Jumpstart’s approach is to deliver unique interventions that address specific career readiness and employment barriers. We do not deliver bridging or training programs designed to upskill refugees. We recognize the importance of upskilling programs so we partner with agencies to refer our clients over to your training opportunities.

Our referral model is similar to how we engage with employers for employment opportunities. We learn about your program, promote it to our relevant clients, screen interested clients for interest and eligibility, and finally refer them directly to your training program intake team. This model ensures you get motivated and qualified candidates, while clients receive increased visibility and consideration for their potential participation.
