VANCOUVER, B.C February 20, 2024 –Jumpstart Refugee Talent, the Canadian, refugee-led, nonprofit that matches refugees with employers, announced today that one of their employer client’s ARKTOS Development Ltd. is looking for five new qualified individuals to join their team. ARKTOS, a Canadian manufacturer of amphibious craft, barges, and composite components for Rigid Inflatable Boats (RIBs) based in Surrey, is urgently seeking candidates to fulfill positions in their composites and fit-out departments.

“Jumpstart works with over 120+ employers across Canada, like ARKTOS, and acts as an excellent bridge for qualified refugee talent seeking meaningful work,” says Darrell Pinto, Director of Employment, Jumpstart Refugee Talent. “One-third of the refugee clients we refer for jobs get interviews, and we are honored to support ARKTOS’ effort in finding talent. These latest job openings present real opportunities for those who may already be experienced in manufacturing to hone their skills further and work with a specialized company creating unique designs the world over.”

“ARKTOS urgently needs more workers to complete existing contracts and additional contracts starting shortly,” says Bruce Seligman, President of ARKTOS Developments Ltd. “Although previous experience is preferred ARKTOS will be willing to provide training to candidates with experience in a related trade.”

Eligible candidates must:

  • Reside in Canada and possess a valid work permit.
  • Have a background in composites manufacturing, boatbuilding, or a related trade.
  • Minimum conversational English language for day-to-day communication.
  • High school diploma or college certificate.

The five new positions are available immediately and are all based in Surrey, B.C.
