This session features Zurich Canada‘s Bessie Aquino, Senior Talent Acquisition Advisor, and Saiyaf Ali, AVP, Talent Acquisition. The session is facilitated by Darrell Pinto, Director of Employment, Jumpstart Refugee Talent.
This session will include a discussion on the ideal candidate profile for Zurich Canada, what a day in the life is like for an employee with the company, questions from the audience, and more.

Darrell Pinto, Employment Director | Jumpstart Refugee Talent
Darrell Pinto is Director of Employment at Jumpstart Refugee Talent where he leverages his extensive corporate relationships to create a pathway to meaningful employment for refugees. Darrell is a senior executive who has honed his strategic consulting and people-focused leadership in Toronto, New York, London, and Shanghai at companies spanning private and public financial markets, pharmaceuticals, media and non-profits.
Darrell currently serves on the boards of several non-profits and was a previous co-chair with Senator Ratna Omidvar of the National Refugee Jobs Agenda Roundtable, a working coalition of 150 Canadian organizations collaborating to find meaningful jobs for refugees. He is host of a national talk show on the New Canadians TV platform on issues related to inclusion, immigration, and multiculturalism.

Bessie Aquino, Senior Talent Acquisition Advisor
Bessie originally joined Zurich in 1985 and held various roles such as Recruitment and HR Generalist, during her 13 years of employment with the company. In 1998, she joined the Ontario Securities Commission and worked in the Human Resources and Compliance areas before re-joining Zurich in 2004. Since returning to Zurich, Bessie has held positions mainly in the Talent Acquisition space, including a Recruitment Operations role.
In her current role as Senior Talent Acquisition Advisor, she provides recruiting support to mainly the Claims and Underwriting teams at Zurich.
Saiyaf Alli, AVP, Talent Acquisition | Human Resources | Zurich Canada
Saiyaf is a dedicated Talent Acquisition leader with over 16 years of Talent Acquisition and Human Resources experience. Having completed the CHRL Designation, he is committed to coaching and leading high-performance teams, and continuous learning. He is also motivated by coaching and developing others, and helping candidates land the next role in their career journey. A few of the organizations Saiyaf has had the pleasure of working for are Deloitte, Desjardins Insurance, Canadian Tire, Canadian Western Bank, and now Zurich Canada.
