Starting over in a new country comes with its challenges, especially when it comes to securing employment. At Jumpstart Refugee Talent, we are dedicated to helping refugees, refugee claimants, and forcibly displaced individuals navigate the Canadian job market. Our Career Readiness programs are designed to provide tailored support, equipping clients with the tools and resources needed for successful employment.

If you’re new to Jumpstart and wondering how to get started, here’s a step-by-step guide to our intake process:

Step 1: Sign Up

Your journey begins by filling out our Intake Form, which you can find on our website. This form collects essential details, such as your contact information, the program(s) you’re interested in, your resume, and some demographic information. These details help us match you with the right support tailored to your background and career goals.

Step 2: Contact & Eligibility Verification

Within 2-3 business days, a Jumpstart team member will reach out to verify your eligibility and complete an intake and needs assessment over the phone. This conversation helps us understand your career aspirations, work experience, language proficiency, and any challenges you may be facing in your job search.

Step 3: Assessment & Program Enrollment

Based on your background and career needs, we will enroll you in one or more of our Career Readiness programs. These programs are specifically designed to empower newcomers and prepare them for employment in Canada:

  • Resume Building – Get professional support to craft a strong, market-ready resume.
  • Mentorship – Connect with industry professionals for guidance and networking opportunities.
  • Career Pathing – Explore different career pathways and set achievable professional goals.

Step 4: Follow-Up & Feedback

Our commitment to your success does not end with enrollment. The Jumpstart team continuously follows up to track your progress, provide additional career navigation support, and collect feedback to improve our services. We want to ensure that you are on the right path and making the most of the resources available to you.
