Our Entrepreneurship initiatives champion the remarkable ingenuity and potential of refugee founders embarking on early-stage, high-growth businesses in Canada.
Our mission is to empower refugee entrepreneurs by providing crucial resources to overcome key barriers, such as securing funding and receiving necessary training to turn their ideas into reality.
We currently offer one-on-one support for refugee-led businesses to guide and grow their startup. We also facilitate connections with our network of businesses, angel investors, and professional advisors.
In partnership with Angel Investors Ontario, REinvest is a mentorship program dedicated to supporting refugee entrepreneurs based in Ontario. Refugees with innovative and established businesses (or business ideas) are invited to apply and pitch directly to a panel of angel investors to receive funding.
The HER Startup (Homerun Refugee Startup), in collaboration with the Syrian Canadian Foundation, empowers refugee and forcibly displaced women through business support. Mentees receive guidance from trainers, mentors, and consultants in weekly meetings to prepare investor pitches. After a 6-month period, selected businesses undergo incubation to bring their ideas to fruition. The current HER Startup cohort is in its incubation phase, and no new candidates will be accepted in 2023/2024.
