Jumpstart is thrilled to announce a new collaboration with Toronto Public Library (TPL), aimed at expanding community-based support for refugees and forcibly displaced individuals across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
This partnership will provide free, accessible, and welcoming spaces for employment-focused workshops, networking events, and information sessions at select TPL branches. These events are designed to empower refugee talent with the tools, connections, and confidence they need to secure meaningful employment in Canada.
“We are delighted to partner with the Toronto Public Library to create an accessible and welcoming space for refugees and forcibly displaced individuals seeking meaningful employment,” says Dawit Demoz, Senior Manager of Client Engagement at Jumpstart. “When I arrived in Canada 10 years ago, the public library was a safe and inclusive space for me, and I’m excited to help extend that same sense of belonging to others who often feel excluded.”
“At Toronto Public Library, we believe in the power of public spaces to foster opportunity, inclusion, and connection,” says Amanda French, Manager, Social Development, Toronto Public Library. “We are proud to partner with Jumpstart to create supportive environments where refugees and newcomers can access the resources and community they need to succeed.”
This collaboration builds on the shared commitment of both organizations to economic inclusion, community empowerment, and the long-term success of newcomers in Canada.
Together, Jumpstart and Toronto Public Library look forward to building stronger, more inclusive pathways to employment and belonging.
