CALGARY, ALBERTA  June 17, 2024 — Jumpstart is excited to announce a new partnership with Gateway, a collaboration among organizations in Alberta. This is a complementary match for Jumpstart, not only in what they do, but how they do it.

Gateway’s mandate is to connect newcomers to Canada with services they need, at the time that they need it. Through their programming, services, and one-on-one support, they help empower and relieve their clients’ challenges, supporting their navigation through an often complex and confusing new environment.  Gateway helps immigrants and refugees build their new lives and feel connected, supported, and recognized in that process.

Whether it’s language or career support, programming for children and families, or legal and mental health services, Gateway prioritizes the needs, shared values, and purpose of each individual client in a forward-thinking, adaptable, and optimistic manner. Thanks to the commitment of Gateway partners across Calgary, the collaboration boasts over 2,000 services to help newcomers settle in their new home.

“We are very excited about this new partnership with Gateway,” says Dawit Demoz, Jumpstart Program Manager, Community Relations. “While we do have a Jumpstart office in Calgary, this new opportunity will allow us to support and serve a larger client base across the province, and work alongside committed and passionate organizations, like the Gateway project under the Immigrant Service Calgary.”

In the end, Gateway and Jumpstart are working towards the same vision: a world, country, and communities where, together, we are unleashing the economic, social, and civic potential of newcomers. It’s inspiring to be in partnership on this journey.
