Jumpstart Refugee Talent is looking for our first Trainer for Knowledge Mobilization. This is a lifestyle career opportunity not a job. Become part of a global team who strive every day to economically empower refugees in Canada.

Jumpstart Refugee Talent is a global refugee-led charitable organization with offices in Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary, Bogota, and Beirut. We are dedicated to unlocking the potential of refugee talent by fostering economic inclusion through employment, entrepreneurship, and labor mobility pathways. Since 2016, we have empowered thousands of refugees to contribute meaningfully to their communities while building thriving, resilient careers.

About the Role

We are seeking a Trainer, Knowledge Mobilization to deliver training, coaching, and implementation support to employment and settlement organizations, employers, and other sector partners. The primary audience for the training will be professionals and teams from these organizations rather than jobseekers or candidates.

During the initial phase, the role will focus primarily on the Hiring Event model, an established employment initiative. The Trainer will deliver the existing training program and support partner organizations as they plan and implement Hiring Events across Canada. They will also adapt training resources to meet partner needs, guide partners through implementation, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the program.

Over time, the role may expand to include other employment-related workshops and capacity-building activities based on Jumpstart’s priorities and emerging partner needs.

This role is well suited to an experienced facilitator who understands adult learning, can explain processes clearly, and is comfortable coaching partners through practical implementation.

Key Responsibilities

Training Delivery

  • Deliver engaging virtual and in-person workshops related to the Hiring Event model, including planning, roles and responsibilities, employer engagement, candidate management, screening, event delivery, data collection, and outcome tracking.
  • Facilitate other employment-related workshops as the training portfolio evolves.
  • Adapt workshop delivery to different audiences, organizational contexts, and levels of experience.
  • Support participant engagement, discussion, peer learning, and the practical application of workshop content.
  • Collect feedback and recommend updates to improve training materials and delivery.

Partner Coaching and Event Support

  • Coach partner organizations as they apply the training and prepare to deliver Hiring Events.
  • Help partners establish clear workplans, timelines, roles, processes, and next steps.
  • Provide practical guidance on employer engagement, candidate referrals, screening, interview scheduling, event logistics, data management, and post-event follow-up.
  • Review partner readiness, identify implementation gaps, and escalate issues requiring additional support.
  • Participate in planning meetings, event rehearsals, event-day activities, and post-event debriefs as required.
  • Support partners in applying the established model while making appropriate adaptations to their local context.

Partner Engagement and Knowledge Mobilization

  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with partner organizations and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate partner check-ins and follow up on timelines, responsibilities, and agreed actions.
  • Capture lessons, implementation challenges, and promising practices from workshops and partner activities.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of training materials, templates, case studies, and knowledge-sharing resources.
  • Support communities of practice and other opportunities for partners to exchange knowledge and learn from one another.
  • Collaborate with Jumpstart team members to identify emerging training needs and coordinate partner support.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years’ demonstrated experience designing and facilitating workshops, training programs, or group-learning sessions to professional audiences.
  • Strong understanding of adult-learning principles and experience adapting content for different audiences and learning needs.
  • Ability to facilitate in-person and virtual discussions with professionals who bring different levels of experience, responsibility, and organizational authority.
  • Excellent facilitation, presentation, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong relationship-building and project-coordination skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse partners and communities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and other virtual learning or collaboration platforms.
  • The following experience would be considered an asset:
  • Experience working in employment programs, workforce development, recruitment, or settlement services.
  • Experience planning or delivering employment-related events, Hiring Events, recruitment events, job fairs, or employer-engagement activities.
  • Experience using applicant tracking systems for job postings, candidate screening, workflow management, interview scheduling, or reporting.
  • Knowledge of employment barriers affecting refugees, newcomers, and other underrepresented jobseekers.
  • Lived refugee or forced displacement experience

What We Offer

  • One-year contract position with a competitive compensation package, including starting salary of $60,000, health benefits and 20 annual vacation days.
  • A chance to make a tangible difference within a rapidly expanding organization that serves marginalized communities.
  • Flexible work schedule with all essential virtual communication tools provided.
  • Ability to work remotely or from one of our shared office environments in Toronto, Calgary. Montreal, or Vancouver.

Jumpstart is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion. Refugees and individuals from underrepresented communities are strongly encouraged to apply.
