DAWIT DEMOZ

Program Manager, Community Relations

Dawit is a Client Relations Manager for Jumpstart, where he oversees community engagement, intake and needs assessment activities. Before Jumpstart, Dawit worked as a Trainer for the Refugee Sponsorship Training Program (RSTP). He is a former refugee from Eritrea, and he brings over 10 years of experience in community organizing, refugee advocacy and sponsorship training, and public speaking. He is passionate about refugee and forced migration, social justice, inclusion, and equity issues. Through his current role, he is invested in the empowerment and economic inclusion of newly resettled refugees to Canada. Dawit holds a BA in Psychology and MA in Development Studies from York University in Toronto. On his free time, Dawit enjoys camping and canoe tripping, playing sports, and socializing.
