About the Job 

Jumpstart is looking to add an exceptional HR professional to our national team to support the human resources and operations of our organization. Our ideal candidate will be experienced, outcome-driven, people-centric, and a passionate self-starter with experience working with teams and supporting operations. 

Reporting to Jumpstart’s Director of Operations, the Human Resources Partner will be responsible for leading Human Resources and providing specific administrative support.   

About You: 

  • A human resources specialist with 4+ years’ experience in a similar role and has relevant post-secondary education
  • Outcomes-driven and recognizes the value of people-informed design and support 
  • Agile and adaptable to change in a fast-paced environment 
  • Able to support the delivery of a variety of operational functions  
  • A creative thinker with great problem-solving skills 
  • Exceptional organizational management skills 
  • Relationship manager able to effectively engage with our staff, volunteers, and external partners 


Nice to have for our ideal candidate 

  • Lived experience as a refugee  
  • Human Resource Credentials/Certification 
  • Understanding of the economic barriers and challenges refugees face 
  • Experience working in grassroots or smaller organizations 
  • Proficient with CRM systems and other productivity technologies 


Detailed Roles and Responsibility:
 

Human Resources [85 %] 

  • Payroll & Benefits Administration – Manage payroll processing and administer employee benefits, including enrollments, changes, and staff support. 
  • Workforce Planning & Mobility – Lead recruitment processes, support hiring managers, and oversee onboarding, offboarding, and staff transitions. 
  • Internship Management – Build partner relationships, coordinate recruitment pipelines, and manage onboarding, support, and completion of internship placements. 
  • Volunteer Management – Support the development and delivery of the volunteer management system, including outreach, screening, and onboarding in collaboration with program staff. 
  • Employee Relations – Serve as a primary staff support contact, advise on performance matters, and foster a positive and solutions-focused workplace. 
  • Professional Development – Coordinate and promote training opportunities that strengthen individual and organizational capabilities. 
  • Inclusion, Diversity & Human Connections – Implement practices that strengthen belonging, collaboration, and inclusive culture across the organization. 
  • HR Technology & Analytics – Maintain compliant personnel records and HR data. 
  • Organizational Change & Development – Contribute to developing and implementing HR and operational policies, processes, and projects that support organizational growth and effectiveness. 


Administration [15%]
 

  • Responding to phone and email inquiries and directing stakeholders to the appropriate staff. 
  • Performs other administrative duties as assigned.

  • Permanent position with a competitive compensation package, including starting salary of $60,000. Higher compensation may be considered for candidates that greatly exceed the role’s responsibilities and requirements.
